There is much truth in this and it goes back centuries. Consider that it was women who led the campaign for prohibition because men's drinking caused them to neglect their duties and harm women. It appears never to have occurred to the women that maybe this was one of the few ways men could manage their stress, suffering and grief and that women's attempt to take it away (for their own benefit I might add) was actually gynocentrism in action.
The irony here is that while the way men's manner of dealing with pain is criticized by society, it is actually women's approach to these issues which should trouble society more. Men are basically told to adopt the stiff upper lip, buck up and fulfill their obligations to society while managing their pain in the background. Imagine how society would BENEFIT if women did a bit more of this and less playing the victim? Women demand equality but then complain when:
A. Men don't take their ability to do the hard thing seriously...i.e. women are too weak to handle things.
B. Men fail to bend over backwards and show empathy and support for women when they are in discomfort and can't handle things.
Women want it both ways and fail to realize that A is the response they demand of men while B is the response that results from an honest assessment of what women's conduct suggests is their ability. If women actually spent less time talking and more time listening they would realize that men at times do need compassion, but also that they can't expect to be treated as equal in society if they aren't prepared to put society's needs ahead of their own. Women need to show men more empathy...and expect LESS of it from society and actually step up on the personal responsibility front.
In A Natural History of the Dead, Hemingway wrote “regarding the sex of the dead it is a fact that one becomes so accustomed to the sight of all the dead being men that the sight of a dead woman is quite shocking.” The same rule applies to the suffering of men.
I recall Jessica Valente getting attention up to the level of global agencies by complaining about how a woman's backside was shown in a video game. The piles of anonymous male corpses littering the same landscape didn't get a mention.
It's time to stop talking about "toxic masculinity" and start talking about how society (I'm including women and men) is toxic to boys and men. We talk about masculinity as though it is mens doing, but when institutionalized reporting laments casualties of "women and children" and thereby implicate that men were either, a) responsible for their deaths, or b) not worthy of lamenting, it can't be seen as an even playing field. Men's (and by proxy, boy's lives) are simply valued less.
This is no longer an issue of men needing to retrain themselves out of their "toxicity" as though they created this system... it's time for male rage to change the system that has held them captive, much in the same way the women's movement has reshaped the roles for women. As men, we should not tolerate this any more.
I'm not sure men's pain is hard to see, but it is definitely hard to acknowledge. A man in pain is often seen by other men and especially woman, as a man out of control, a threat, vulnerable and useless. I often wonder if this reaction isn't hard wired in some way. I don't like the paradox, or the contradiction, but I have experienced it many times myself.
I have some good news and some bad news. I searched "the way men heal" at a popular book piracy website. The book is not there and you do not need to ask them to take it down to honor your copyright. This was the closest match: "Toxic Men - 10 Ways to Identify, Deal with, and Heal from the Men Who Make Your Life Miserable by Lillian Glass". Sigh.
We all know the differences between men and women.
But the one two dance of Postmodernity requires we premise with a lie to the party line, then contradict with evidence.
For example, the science tells us that 50% of BPDemons are male, but diagnosis is 75% female.
The honest to God truth is that all women understand the warped psychodynamics of the BPD syndrome, and are familiar with negative animus possession. But a lie is a homily to the anti enlightenment religion of woke.
The opponent has our collective consciousness in his power, the Zeitgeist of inversion has been rising since the cultural revolution of the 1960s.

Well said Sadredin.
Because men DO NOT MATTER in our gynocentric, sexist, misandrist, feminist western societies

Gamma bias is by far the strongest bias we know of.
In the US, ethnic Africans get an extra 10% extra judicial punishment after sentencing. But the male sex gets 63% more.
Yet, the postmodern caste system inverts this into a victim ladder down to hell, rather than a competency ladder into heaven.

Timely.
