I liked this also: https://newsofx2.com/2024/03/30/life-cycle-of-a-single-mom/

Collect government handouts

After all this, they focus on the freebies given by the government to single mothers like food, clothing, or money in the name of their children too.

On one hand I don't care, but on the other I wonder : how is it that society gets to pay for these single mums with children? I know of one that refused to have anything to do with the father of her exceptionally, wonderful daughter..How can this be allowed? but the Government (alas Tax Payers) got to supply her a house to live and pay a pension... (with sometimes cheating that she received no money from other sources).. how is this so? I would have thought that the man would be made to pay.. . but why is it that women can get away with this... ??? or is it simply : Marxism control or something like that... what a whacked up world we live in...

The govt has successfully transferred a woman's allegiance to them rather than to the husband. We are living in a crazy place.

Tom, thank you. I find this kind of 'one sentence' insight very valuable.. from your life experience and analysis...

Last evening after I posted this, it nagged at me.. then I thought, in australia maybe:

A woman is married to a man and they both work - maybe different percentages of Full-Time... But why is it that a woman can say: I want a family and a career and therefore (almost) 'demand' that she have both and in fact a lot of women do have both - family and career.

Yet, ??, a woman can get pregnant and at the start get on with the man or maybe doesn't even know him (as in casual encounter without even exchanging names etc.) and YET she cannot go to work and relies on Government hand outs.

[Tom, replied to my comment and I found that valuable) This same woman can 'not get on with the man' and yet he doesn't pay, in some cases, because 'she doesn't get on with him'. and 'refuses contact with the father' and yet the tax payer, pays!!!

It gets complicated as I think more.. but, anyway, why is the single woman treated any differently? She could work like the married who desperately wants her career..

We are being ripped off.. lied to... in one way it is because the Government sanctions it that we have accepted all this but in fact it is a form of plunder or stealing...

Don't get me wrong.. I don't want to be so mean and I struggle with that aspect but I'm aghast at what has been going on under my own nose!!!

I'll have you know Tom, that was nasty.. my internalised Feminist (but Jamie, didn't you kill her off after your first year of hanging out in Mens Rights Activist groups? Apparently she is still clinging Jamie...) didn't like that.. but what the hell.. nice piece of satire, humour and truth...

"and your HR department will know about everything you say. " I had a female boss and she had worked in HR - as I had for a month or so - and I cannot tell you how pleased I was - schaden freude - when a female agency employee was told she would be staying longer but our boss changed her mind and the Agency woman punched our Boss in the face.. Why freude? Because I was not supported by this boss or my male team leader - while having a spat with a woman in the office. It was both our fault - two hot heads together can create a volcano.. but the colleague walked out of mediation meetings and she was still protected until I admitted - 'some days I'm so angry about this that I'm afraid I might hit someone' (hehehehe).. things changed then.. HR are full of hot-air and once you find their achilles heel - they buckle under.. Anyway.. I laughed at the HR sentence...

But I was reminded of how a female colleague, same office, was slowly divorcing/separating from her husband and after reading this article I'm actually wondering if it was all deliberate !!!?? MMMmmmmmmmm She would absolutely whinge about her husband and I believed her.. but all these years later, I'm wondering mmmmmm...

Anyway, this is why my profile says: "it's hard to unlearn something you have been taught all your life"

Thanks for the article Tom... interesting site I might add... Great stuff....
