For years the media have been full of upper-middle-class women admiring other women just like themelves. The study's results are no surprise. The mutual admiration society does not welcome new points of view or know what to make of them. I especially liked this quote from the author: “When I discuss this work with people, their reaction is often to ask if others within the academic community have responded negatively to the results. . . . And I understand the question, because ever since I started doing this work, I have felt some trepidation about sharing the results." The first reaction of the professorial sheep is to ask how the other professorial sheep reacted. Not "what do I think" but rather "what do they think." This is how the flock disciplines itself: don't wander from the center, don't get near the edge. If you do, be fearful of what might happen.

It's weird, the amount of denial in the comments section. Quite a few mention how implicit bias tests have been 'debunked', but they just leave it at that, as though, therefore, the results themselves don't merit comment. Also love those citing the 'patriarchy', their negative attitude toward men somehow disproving that there is a negative attitude toward men!

Oh and Alan if this research is replicated there will be lots more denial. Feminists have been living in a fantasy world for way too long. That fantasy world has contaminated our culture to such a great extent that way too many others are verrückt. Time to get a reality check.

They always make the same comments, whatever the subject, if the message contradicts their indoctrinated world view.

I couldn't help smiling as I realised that the researchers are learning what we've always known; that what we've always known is true _is_ true.

Race V. Gender?

In terms of how men are generally viewed and treated black men were the canaries in the mine.
