I'm troubled by the male model, who claims no interest in the fact that female models earn so much more than he does. That makes no sense. But I have a theory. I can't prove this theory, because it depends on a hunch: that many or most male models (along with their clothing designers and fashion photographers) are gay. In itself, that would make no difference. But more than a few gay men have absorbed feminist (or other woke) ideologies. To that extent, status in their circles depends on the approval of feminists. Just a thought.

Good point Paul. I have seen many men who earn less who are not so bothered by it. This fellow was earning 1.5 mil and that puts him in the top .5 % Right? What's to worry over? lol

My experience over the decades is that once people know you are gay, they assume you are also a feminist as well as a progressive Democrat. Many of my gay friends don't seem concerned about this kind of prejudice and never respond to it. It takes our women friends a minute, when the are going on about gender and politics, to realize that my partner and I are not chiming in as expected.

So men generate 40x more ad revenue than women and women are only paid 3 times less than men?

Does anyone out there realize how badly minor league baseball (MiLB) players are paid, and how hard they work? For most divisions is is not even a living wage.

Yes, and you never hear them complain that they are playing the same game and should be paid as much as the major leagues. As the video points out, the minor league players average is around 16k a year at the time it was recorded. That's not enough to live on. These men are dedicated

A great 14 minutes, Tom. I learned a lot. I wondered if women models are paid so much more because women's fashion is a much bigger industry than men's fashion. I don't really need statistics. I just need to go to the symphony or opera. Women are there in nifty black dresses and heels, many of them looking great. Men? Not so much, as the kids day. Sweat pants, worn jeans, sneakers, baseball caps. Just a night out with the boys. Do these guys own a shirt with a collar, or, gasp, a tie? Even the gay men look like they are ready to tidy up the kitchen, not see Tristan und Isolde. The women put a lot of effort into presentation, chiefly to impress other women, I have heard. The men put zero effort into presentation, figuring that if they don't care the other guys won't either. Since when did looking good--sharp, put together--become something men could blow off? I've heard that women are insecure and so they dress up. Somebody asked me if I dressed up because I was insecure. I smiled and said that I was pretty sure, in the boxing ring or outside it, I could take him. Clothes are about competition as well as comfort. So too are cars, real estate, and sports gear. What is so terrible about that?

Thanks Allen - Good point about the possible difference in profits from female vs male clothing. The male hierarchy lives? I could take him inside or outside the ring! LOL! Nice.

But my point isn't about worry, Tom. It's about fairness. Unless this guy knows of some legitimate reason for his ambition (a good thing) to be limited arbitrarily (a bad thing), his bravado must be built on a foundation of either complacency or condescension (noblesse oblige toward women), not modesty.

I hear what you are saying Paul. To us it seems hard to believe that someone could not care about this.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty. How about prostitution? How about stripping? How about porn? Granted, in the Golden Age of Porn, men like John Holmes, Harry Reems, Peter North, and (somewhat inexplicably) Ron Jeremy were in high demand and made relatively good money, but now it's the women who dominate.

Now, let's take the gloves completely off. How about marriage? If you look at it as a business partnership, how often do women bring more financial assets to the table? Almost never, right? Yet the women are entitled to half the marital assets and, in a divorce, often more. That seems to be the deal the female athletes want in their leagues. They want to be treated like spouses and split the assets evenly with the men, even though they contribute nothing to the relationship other than the paltry income they earn from butt's in seats at the stadium. It's not like Megan Rapinhoe ever cleaned Lionel Messi's toilet, changed his kids' diapers, or sucked his dick, yet she wants to be treated as his wife and considers his income community property.
